James is back in town!

                                     James is back in town 
                               This episode is rated PG 13 

James has been back a little time now. He is getting back into the swing of things at the station. Back to the usual cases and looking into some old cases that haven't been solved. Kat has refuse to work with Josh due to him having a girlfriend. Josh and Eden have been seeing one another and things are going great between them.

Eden stopped by to have dinner with Josh while he was working. They return back to the station.

                        Eden- I loved dinner * she smiled at him*

                        Josh- I did too babe, hate I have to work and not come home along with you. God woman the things I would do!!

                        Eden- Joshhh... shhh your co-workers may here you!

                        Josh- Do you see me caring? I don't think so!

                        Eden- ok, I will see ya later ( she kisses him )

                        Josh- by baby!

Once Eden leaves, Josh heads over to check in with James. These two are getting along. There once was a time Josh couldn't stand James. He tried everything in his power to get between him and Julianna. He didn't succeed tho. Except who know's were James and Julianna stand. Its late June and the two have talked at work and such but. The texts have stopped and he is pretty sure she has moved on.

Josh-soooo what are ya up to old James!

                 James- ah nothing just looking at these old cases. ( James looked thru some of the files)

            Josh- you two haven't worked things out have ya?

                 James- What, no, I mean yes I mean why do you even care Josh?

                   Josh- ahhh as heartless as I may seem, I do. Yall are good for one another.

                 James- Were good. I think that ship sailed. I was certain things could go back to the way they were but it just doesn't work that way.

              Josh- have you talked to her? I mean really talked. Asked her to dinner?

                 James- I wanted to, and I have attempted numerous times but... the other night Victoria's brother came in. They left together. I am pretty sure she is seeing him.

                                         Josh- MATT? Pretty boy Man bun tight shorts Matt? Oh damn dude! 

                 James- yeah, thanks don't rub it in or anything. I can't say for sure they are but... it seems it.

                     Josh- I think you need to talk to her dude. Feel her out. See if there is a chance still.

James- We were texting before I came back from New Orleans, then it just stopped.

Josh- Yeah, I don't buy it tho. Pretty boy is NOT her type.

James- And, how do you know.

Josh- Do you forget I have known Julianna 6 years now!

James- That's true.... Maybe I will your right I need to talk to her.

Josh- Good!!! Now I am going to go in my office and work a bit. 

James- sounds good ...

Josh left the room leaving James and his thoughts alone. He decided to go put some of the old files up in the file room. When he came around the corner he stopped. He heard talking and realized it was Julianna and Matt. He ducked back so they wouldn't here him. He couldn't see but he heard it all.

Julianna- Thank you for brining me coffee.

Matt- I had to bring the sweet in my life something special.

Matt- your so silly, thank you.

*she kisses his cheek*

James feels like someone has stabbed him in the chest. His chance of being with her is over. Seems Matt has won!

Julianna- I better go.. I have some work to finish before I can leave.

Matt- ok, call me tomorrow beautiful.

Julianna- Will do.

James quickly took the files and headed to his desk. He felt sick to his stomach and knew he messed up leaving town. The girl he thought was his, and would be his forever was now just a memory.

Julianna came into the room. She sat down at the desk with her coffee, she glanced over and could see James deep into thought looking at his files. She smiled. She was glad he was back even tho things were still uncertain,

Julianna- So anything new maybe we could crack an old case.

James- Nope

Julianna- oh, ok....

Julianna was taken back buy his abrupt answer but maybe he was in deep thought. Detectives work is never done.

James decided to grab his phone and go home. He was done for the night and didn't want to spend another minute along side Julianna. It was to much pain for him to bare right now.

The Following Week.

James was down at the court house getting some information on some of the old cases. The last two weeks he has had to be down there more often. The court house secretary Heidi has been helping him. The two had a few laughs while James was in and out so much. Finally on Thursday she got up the  courage and gave James her number. He took it. He decided instead of waiting on the side lines he was going to ask her to dinner.

James- Say, ummm Heidi what are you doing tonight?

                 Heidi smiled and gleamed ear to ear. 

Heidi- Well nothing  that I know of

James- How about I pick you up around 6:30 and we can go have a burger and a drink?James said smiling 

Heidi-I would love to  

James-Ok sounds great, text me your address and I'll see you then

Heidi-I will, well have a great rest of the  day.

         (smiling she was blushing knowing one of Ash Harbor's finest was asking her out)

Later that day back at the station James was working on one of the old cases. He got some good information to help him today. His phone buzzed and it was a number he didn't recognize. He opened it up and  he shortly realized it was Heidi texting him her address. James smirked. He liked the fact a beautiful woman was interested in him. 

The text

Heidi- it was nice seeing you today 

James- well the pleasure was seeing you too ;-)

James was feeling flirty. He didn't wanna lead the girl on but a little flirting never hurt .

Heidi- oh well thank you. I'm blushing now

James let out a soft laugh.

Julianna was at her desk across from James. Gavin was beside her discussing the case they were handling. She watched him giggling at his phone. She suddenly felt nauseous. Who was he texting and laughing at that? Was it someone from New Orleans. Who know's could have been one of his sisters. No, that was too sexy to be one of his sisters. Julianna knew she messed up by not telling him how she felt. He kept smirking and texting. I wish I could be a fly on the wall and see who it is. 

It was about 5:45pm and James wanted to get home and get ready for dinner with Heidi. It was only burgers and beer but he wanted to shower and look somewhat good. He grabbed his stuff looked at Jules and Gavin

James- See yall!

Julianna didn't have enough time to even get the words goodbye out.

Gavin- ok, you ready to work and not worry about muscle head.

Julianna looked at Gavin like he was crazy- What do you mean?

Gavin- I have watched you for months stare and gawk and watch his every move. Thought you were both over with. And you decided to go for Victoria's brother. I guess my offer wasn't good enough

Julianna- Gavin, I am not with Matt.

Gavin- bullshit I saw you kiss him the other morning.

Julianna- okkkk well but, its complicated.... were not like.. ya know together together!

Gavin- And, Peanut butter doesn't go with Jelly. Yeah I believe that umm never!

Julianna- Ya know your ass 

Gavin- Yea, I can be but... I care about you honestly. I hate to see you drain your feelings on that prick when he doesn't even care.
Julianna- Gavin, Jesus you don't have to be rude.
Gavin- I am not trying to be, I just tell it like it is I don't beat around the bush.
Julianna- well, I don't know whats going to happen.

Gavin- He probably is going to get ass right now. By the way he acted and was laughing that was a woman on the other side.
Julianna- you think so?
Gavin- Yeah, no doubt about it.
Gavin knew he struck a cord with Julianna. He felt bad. 

Gavin- Time for you to maybe push past this and find some happiness else were.
Julianna- yeah.. look lets just... finish what we got going on here.
Gavin felt bad he had been so blunt but hes a man. He has been there and he knows  how it goes.

LATER THAT EVENING.

It was 7pm and James and Heidi were seated at the Odessy. 
Heidi- I love this place.
James- Yeah there burgers are one of the best!
Heidi loved the way James looked. He was so handsome, gosh the way he wore a shirt could make any girl melt.

Being a week night there isn't many people there. Nice and quite to talk and get to know one another. 
Heidi- So James what made you wanna become a detective.
James-My uncle and grandfather both were. They always had interesting stories and I wanted to make a difference in the world. Once I graduated high school I went to school to be a police officer.

Heidi- wow, that can be a scary job too.
James- Oh for sure. I have had a few scares but, I love it and I enjoy making a difference. Brings me joy when I can help a family have closure, or even get the bad guys off the street.
Heidi- I know, my dad is retired now but he was a chief of police over in South Bay. 
James- oh nice, that is awesome. So you know the way the line of work is.
Heidi- oh yea, my mom would hardly sleep when he was away working. She worried every night if he was safe and she always fear him getting shot. 
James- yeah my sisters and mother are the same way.
Heidi- oh you have sisters?

James- yea, Emma is 32 she is a yoga instructor at the Health Club and My sister Nova is 29 she's a writer for the Foodies Delight Magazine. 
Heidi- wow that's so neat. She must meet a lot of famous chefs. 
James- Oh yea, she travels a lot she is actually in New York right now meeting with a few.
Heidi- Sounds like you all have great career options. 
James- I think were all very  happy with that.
Heidi- are they, umm married?
James- Ugh well no, Nova has a boyfriend she has been with for about 5 months and Emma is engaged she is getting married first week in October.
Heidi- *while sipping her drink* would you ever like to get married?

James- ugh well, I had that opportunity but the person I was engaged to I found in bed with her boss.
Heidi- really? Oh my god. How could anyone do that to a sweet and loving man like yourself 

Jame- haha, well thank you...
The two finished eating and chatting. It was getting late but, James was enjoying himself. 
James- so how about we go for a walk maybe walk our food off
Heidi- that sounds great. 

When she got up and ready to leave and James touched the small of her back it sent shocks of electricity so her body. His touch and his smell. He was so handsome and she wanted to know what it felt like to be in his arms.
