    Julianna turned and faced the mantel. She was so upset. How could I kiss Matt. What is wrong with me. I guess I got caught up in the whole thing. Even tho it did feel good, this wasn't right. She couldn't help but think she was cheating. Yes, James and her were no longer a couple but they were talking again and maybe things could rekindle.  

Matt- Julianna, did I do something wrong.

Julianna was quite for a second. Not sure how to explain to Matt as to why she pulled away she stood there like a statue.

Matt- Julianna please, answer me?

Julianna- I.. I am sorry Matt. I guess I was caught up in the moment, you should go.

Julianna moved and sat down on her couch she felt embarrassed. She kissed Matt and more then likely made him feel more then she was feeling. 

Matt- look Julianna I didn't mean to push too far, I just couldn't stop. Your so beautiful and I have enjoyed spending time with you lately. You leave me speechless anytime I am near you.

Julianna- Oh Matt, geeze I am sorry. I feel like such an idiot. I don't want you to think I have lead you on or made you think more was going to take place tonight.

Matt- No, I mean your beautiful but I would never push myself on you. I just couldn't leave without kissing you. Just a shot in the dark. 

Julianna- It was sweet Matt.

Matt- am I a bad kisser?

Julianna- aww, noo not at all actually....ummm it was very nice. But I am just not in a good spot. 

Matt- is this anything to do with the picture of you and that man on the mantel?

Julianna looked up at him then she looked down- Yeah......

Matt- look Julianna, I am not going to push. But, your single and maybe when your ready we can try again.

Julianna stood up and moved in closer. She knew she shouldn't be concerned. Who even knows what James was doing down there in New Orleans.Moving closer she decided to see if she was missing out. She leaned in and locked her lips on Matt.

He was very much surprised but did not hesitate. He kissed her sweet lips. She tasted like sweet vanilla. 

Julianna pulled away again. Matt looked at her like this is not happening again. She t hen looked up into his eyes.

Julianna- listen its late, I will talk to you tomorrow ok!

Matt- ugh... ok then. Well, thank you for this evening.

He shortly left leaving Julianna very confused and unsure. 

Julianna needed to sleep on the new things that took place. She wasn't sure how she felt or even how to react. She was supposed to meet Erica at 8 am for coffee. Time to get some sleep. 

THE NEXT DAY

Erica is waiting on Julianna sipping on her coffee. Things have been excellent with her and Justin. Her work in the town is going great a lot of exciting things happening. Justin did ask her to marry him but there is no set date but the two are inseparable.

Julianna walked in and spotted Erica in the corner. She headed to grab a cup of coffee before sitting down. 

Once getting her coffee she came over to sit with Erica.

Erica- Hey, love so glad we got to have coffee.

Julianna- Yeah, I sure.. whew need it this morning. 

Erica- whats wrong? rough night?

Julianna- ugh... well something like that. I mean.. No... it wasn't rough.

Erica could see Jules had something nagging at her. She wasn't herself

Erica- what's wrong? (sipping her coffee)

Julianna- I went to The Odessy with Matt last night. 

Erica- Oh Victoria's brother. Ok, well what happened.

Julianna- We kissed ( Julianna looked down into her coffee)

Erica looked at Jules. She knew she was confused but, she was her friend and she wasn't about to let her friend dwell on something possibly very innoncent.

Erica- you did?

Julianna- We did, gosh Erica I feel like a total asshole today!

Erica- Why? Hunny your single and gourgeous. Get out and enjoy it! *smiling*

Julianna- Yeah, but the thing is James and I have been talking. Not sure if we will ever get back together but, I feel so guilty. 

Erica- Well how was it? LIke was it sexy and sensual or was it like kissing your brother?

Julianna shot her a look- Well first of all I wouldn't kiss my brother like that and it... well, it was decent. 

Erica- You liked it didn't you * giggling*

Julianna- I did but I just ...

Erica- Look, just go slow. Hang out a little. Go to dinner. There is no saying you have to sleep with him.

Julianna- well I am sure he will expect that soon or later.

Erica- Your not up for that so hes out of luck. Ok just spill it girl I want details

Erica giggled and began sipping her coffee.

Julianna was about to tell her when the door opened and the little bell rang. Julianna looked up and there was James. He was back. Wait but he hadn't called or texted.

Erica caught a glimpse of why Julianna wasn't continuing. James came in wearing a tight pair of jeans and a button down plaid shirt. He looked great!

Erica- *ahem* I guess he is back.

Julianna- I guess so, I hadn't heard from him.

Erica- maybe you should go say hello 

Julianna- I can't Erica. He....he...

Julianna was speechless. Seeing James there in the coffee shop in the present and not texting her she felt nervous. Sick to her stomach slightly. They were texting but he hadn't messaged in a few days. And we can't forget about her and Matt lip locking. Then he looked back at her flashing his smile. 

Erica- Jules....

Julianna- huh

Erica- you will eventually see him at the station right?

Julianna- I guess I mean I assume he is coming back to work.

Erica- there is your answer. Go say hello.

Julianna was hesitant. She felt a flood of emotions. He looked amazing. His strong figure and handsome face. He always could make her blush with his smile

Jules smiled back his way.

Julianna- I can't Erica I am a nervous wreck.

Erica- because of last night?

Julianna- Yeah, I just feel horrible.

Erica- I am going to tell you this, you have no idea what he did in the big easy. He might have hooked up with someone.

Julianna- I doubt it, he was on a really gruesome case.

Erica- I am sure he got free time. You can still hook up quickly.

Julianna- Your not helping ( glaring at her)

Erica- I am sorry hunny, just trying to get you out of your funk

Julianna- I know, maybe he won't see me. I am not ready for this I don't think.

Erica- Too Late...

When Julianna turned to look James was coming straight towards them.

James- Hey ladies!

Erica- hey James!!

Julianna- Hi!!!

Erica- Hadn't seen you around in a while *smiling*

James- ugh yea, I actually got in late last night. I needed coffee so I came in.

*Jules in her mind. Oh so that's why he  never texted ok.*

James- yeah actually I am heading over to meet with Darnell now. Hopefully after some rest I will be back to the swing of things Monday!

Julianna can only smile. She feels dizzy, a pit in her stomach.

James- Well, I better get my stuff. I will see yall, maybe we can catch up later Jules.

Julianna- Yeah, ok see ya!

James walks back and grabs his stuff and leaves. Julianna takes a deep breath. She feel a little bit of relief now that hes not standing there with his sexy smile and dark luscious hair begging for her to run her hands and fingers in it. Get it together Jules!

Erica- you ok?

Julianna- (taking a deep breath) Yeah, I am ok.. I mean I need to face this I guess. Head on.

Erica- Don't worry your self. Any who lets go do a little shopping!

Julianna- Eh..I don't think I am up for shopping.

Erica- Jules, come on don't be a party pooper. Charly is having a wonderful shoe sale today I am dieing to get some new heels.

Julianna- dont you have 100 pairs?

Erica- Yeah, but I need a new pair of heels for Justin (smiling)

Julianna- oh geeze!!! ok....

Meanwhile at the Police Station.

James walks in and of course the smell of coffee and the old building is like a familiar smell. He wasn't gone all that long but long enough to miss the usual routine. When James comes around the corner there is Wes and Victoria. Its early but those two he see's still haven't gotten enough of one another.

 

James- *ahem* Heyyyyy I am back!

Wes- James! Dude!!! how the hell are ya!

Victoria- heyy you, welcome home.

James- thanks guys! feels good to be back.

Wes- when did you get in?

James- ugh actually last night. I am sorry I didn't call I just pretty much went to bed got up and now I am here.

Wes- well dude.. so glad your back. We've missed ya.

James- thank you.

While they chatted a blonde haired man walked by. Victoria stopped him a moment.

Victoria- Gavin, come here a minute. This is James. James this is Gavin.

James sticks his hand out- Nice to meet you!

Gavin refuses to shake his hand- You decided to join us again?

James is a little taken back. Who the hell does this guy think he is. Is this the Gavin Julianna said she was working with. What a dickhead! 

James- yeah I hope to be back in the next couple of days. 

Before any more can be said Darnell walked up. He was happy to see one of his best detectives were back. 

Darnell- James, welcome home!

James- thanks sir glad to be back,

James can see hes getting under the skin of Gavin. He thinks he can bother me he has another thing coming to him. I can stomp his ass faster then he can run.

Darnell- well come on in my office lets catch up!

As James walks past Gavin he pats him on the back..... Making Gavin growl with pure disgust..

James- looks like we will be partners! (winking and patting Gavin's shoulder) see ya around!
