Something Changes....

Chris has took the last week or so to really think about everything that has took place. Allison coming back into his life. Was this a sign? Were they really supposed to be together? He spent the morning stealing kisses with Allison and being mesmerized by her enticing eyes.

The two parted later that morning...

He was back at the ranch. His mind kept drifting back to those sweet kisses. Her  lips tasted like honey and her skin was like the golden summer sun.

           

Chris dreamed some more and let the sun warm his body like Allison does. He was in his own trance and not aware that he was no longer alone. 

Breaking him from his day dreams a soft hello was heard. Miranda has showed up behind him.

Miranda- hey...

Chris- ohh ughh hey...

Miranda was a little concerned. His tone was not the usual excited to see her.

Miranda- did I get you at a bad time?

Chris- ugh no.. I just needed to take a break that's all. What can I do for you.

Hmm this was not the usual Chris who would take her in the upstairs loft of the barn and screw her senseless.

While touching his chest and smiling her coy smile....

Miranda- oh, I am back from going to see my parents so I wanted to see if you maybe wanna come over tonight, I could cook for you, and maybe we could....

Chris- I can't... I... I got stuff to do.

He walked passed her and began looking back out over the ranch.

Miranda- oh, ok well maybe we can just hang out.

She walked up and put her hands on his back. She wanted to kiss him so bad she tasted his salty skin. This feeling would have been inviting about two weeks ago to him but now , it is not right!

Chris brushes her hands away. Causing her to look at him with concern.

Looking out across the field, Miranda is so unsure of what is really bothering Chris.

Miranda- what's wrong?

Chris- nothing, we just can't do this Miranda.

Miranda- look, if it has to do with John, I broke it off.

Chris- haha no its not that.

Chris can't believe she could blow it off like that. But, he realizes this is how he was. He didn't care about feelings being hurt or life changes.

Miranda- well then what's the problem. I mean you always like when I kiss on you.

As she moved in closer she began fiddling with his belt buckle. He grabbed her hands.

Chris- Miranda, please just stop!

Miranda- WHY! What the hell Chris, one minute you wanna fuck me and now you don't give two shits. Like I am nothing.

Chris- Miranda your a great person, its just.... I can't anymore. I am sorry please just..

Miranda- is there someone actually else?

Chris looked down. Kind of like the generic look for yes there is someone.

Miranda- oh.... I see how it is... I friggin come back thinking maybe there could be a possibility of you and me. You never have been a one woman man! You fuck everything that walks and you just don't care who is in your path!

Chris pushes her up against the wall they are inches apart and Miranda's heart is beating fast.

Chris- I did and do like you dammit, and fucking would do anything for you. But....

Chris dropped his arms and she looked at him with confusion.

Miranda- what is it then?

Chris- My ex girlfriend Allison came back to town.

Miranda knew exactly who Allison was. She was little younger when the two began dating but she remembered her.

Miranda- so you just decide to take her back. She broke your heart Chris. Left and never came back. She didn't even call. I remember my dad saying at night how you would not even talk while working on the ranch. Why give two shits about her. You know you should tell the bitch to leave.

As she rambled on Chris could no longer hold it back and he shouted.

Chris- SHE WAS FUCKING PREGNANT MIRANDA

Miranda about stumbled and fell when she heard what he said. She was pregnant. Was the baby even his? What happened to the child? Miranda had a thing for Chris and this sent her over the edge now.

Miranda- WHAT, she was pregnant? so she left?

Chris- she just felt it would be better. When she got up there she discovered she lost the baby and had a miscarriage.

Miranda- if I was pregnant with your baby, I would have never left. I mean don't see Chris, she drawling you back in. She will just fuck you over again leaving you heart broke and miserable.

Chris- how do you know, I mean what the fuck Miranda.

Miranda- I do know and one thing I know is Chris I LOVE YOU I fucking love you.

Chris blew a few short breaths out. Miranda couldn't believe she just spilled her guts. He cared about Miranda very much and he was feeling a slight connection but, he did not love her.

Chris looked at her with that uncertain look.

Miranda- I guess your not going to say anything... I should of known. I broke it off with John cause I no longer could fight it. I have been in love with you Chris.... I didn't wanna just sneak around and just have sex. I wanted to be with you. Take care of you. But...

Then he walked over and wrapped his arms around her. He cared about her honestly. He never meant to break her heart or cause her to be upset.

Chris- shh listen.... your going to find a man who will love you unlike no one other.

Miranda- its just not you..

Chris didn't say a word. He pressed his lips to her forehead. Miranda was really an amazing girl. Someday she would find a good man.

The tears fell and Miranda could feel herself withering away. She wanted Chris. This wasn't over. Allison was not going to win!

Later that evening Chris stopped by to see Paul & Cheyenne.

Sitting at the table Chris took a swig of his drink and ran his hands thru his hair.

Paul- so man what's going on? how ya been?
Chris- ughh its been good, I guess... I mean its been good.
Paul- that's sounds like something's up, you need to talk man?
Chris- well things have been interesting. My ex girlfriend Allison has returned to Ash Harbor.
Paul- ohhhh... so is she after you again.
Chris- well, I wouldn't say "after me" but we had a very serious relationship before she left.

Paul- hmmm okk so are you afraid to go back into the relationship with her?

Chris- well, its not that I am afraid, I am not. But, one night I am with Miranda and the next day she was at the coffee shop and then my bed that night.

Paul- dude can you just have a normal date with a girl?

Chris- shut up! I mean things with Miranda have been fun. She cooks for me and we screw and its comfortable, but not serious. But, Allison and I we.... had a lot.

Paul- what are you saying, you have feelings for Miranda and Allison.
Chris- No, well maybe, fuck.... I don't know..  I guess the news that Allison dropped on me is what has my mind in a fog.
Paul- what kind of news?
 Chris took a deep breath and let it out. His voice saying it again may help him process this all.

Chris- she was pregnant when she left me.
Paul- oh shit dude.... well wait stop! Why did she leave? And was this baby even yours?

Chris- she went to live with her aunt and continue school, she is a Vet. Yes, it was mine.
Paul- wow .... so if she left and was pregnant. Where is the baby?
Chris- she had a miscarriage.
Paul- oh man,
Chris-yeah....

The two were sitting there when Cheyenne walked in. Paul got up to hug his wife. She is ready to deliver in a few short months and she looks amazing. Chris could feel the ache in his chest. He wished that the baby lived. Allison always was his everything. Yeah he went from girl to girl like he didn't care but, the truth was she was his true love.

Paul was listing to her tell him her fun plans with the girls. She was on her way out to go meet them  for coffee. Chris watched the two in awe.

They were so sweet and he watched as Paul hung on to every word she was saying. Smiling at one another. Chris wanted to have that.

Chris sat there admiring them some more.
Cheyenne- Hey Chris
Chris- hey there!
Cheyenne- you two boys in here gossiping. ( she snickered)
Paul- baby, we are men we don't gossip.
Cheyenne- haha, ok babe..

Then as they stood there basking in their love, Chris walked up and patted Paul on the shoulder.

 

Paul- where you headed man...
Chris- I ugh.... I got to handle something. I'll call ya later. Thanks for the beer man.
Paul- yeah, ok sounds good man no problem.

Chris headed on his way. Paul knew he was processing so much and his plate was very full. Paul was so thankful for Cheyenne and their life together.

Cheyenne- is he ok babe.
Paul- Yeah I think he is, if not he will be...
Paul- I love you Cheyenne
Cheyenne- Oh baby I love you....
